Make sure you have a say
Residents are about to have their say about who represents them on the next City of Greater Geelong Council.
Households across the region will soon start receiving their ballot papers for the election of 11 councillors in four new-look wards. The Corio and Norlane area will have two councillors representing them, in Windemere ward, which will also include Lara, Anakie and Batesford.
The former City of Greater Geelong councillors were sacked and replaced by administrators Peter Dorling, Kathy Alexander and Laurinda Gardner in April 2016. The sacking followed a three-month investigation into the council’s governance, administration and culture.
The election of new councillors will be held by post, and ballot papers will be received in the mail between October 10 and 12. They must be completed and returned by election day, October 28. If you are over the age of 18 you must vote in this election.
