{"id":274,"date":"2020-07-16T16:08:31","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T06:08:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.northerlyaspects.org.au\/?p=274"},"modified":"2020-07-16T16:08:32","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T06:08:32","slug":"lions-clubs-community-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northerlyaspects.org.au\/lions-clubs-community-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Lions Club\u2019s community projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Corio Norlane Lions Club has gone from strength to strength since it chartered in April 2012 with 28 original members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club\u2019s major projects are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Donating more than 750 computers to families and students in the last nine years.<\/li><li>Donating more than 2400 bikes to families and students.<\/li><li>Collecting winter clothes and hygiene items and donating them to those experiencing homelessness.<\/li><li>Running the Op Shop in Alkira Avenue, where volunteers also provide food parcels to the needy.<\/li><li>The Op Shop providing Work For The Dole program opportunities for 16 weeks.<\/li><li>Providing clothing and utensils to people referred by organisations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Lions Clubs around the world support their local communities in any way that will improve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Community members who have projects they would like to pursue but need help with, are encouraged to contact Corio Norlane Lions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club is also keen to welcome new members, so if you feel you can make a difference to the local community, contact Richard Walter, phone 0402-409-895 or email <a href=\"mailto:coriolions@gmail.com\">coriolions@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Corio Norlane Lions Club has gone from strength to strength since it chartered in April 2012 with 28 original members.
