Boys and girls aged eight to 10 years are\ninvited to join Cub Scouts, who meet at Norlane West Scout Hall in Dunloe\nAvenue every Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cub Scouts focuses on exploring the outdoors,\ndiscovery and learning interesting things. Members belong to a Pack and begin\nto learn leadership and teamwork in small teams called Sixes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cub Scouts go bushwalking, on bike trips\nand camps, and learn skills including how to use a compass. They also have the\nchance to try things like sailing, canoeing and abseiling. The natural\nenvironment is at the heart of Scouting and there are activities aimed at\ndeveloping knowledge of caring for the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cub Scouts have a Leader to help along the\nway and encourage members to participate. They also help create a fun place to\nlearn, belong and be adventurous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
By joining in different activities and\nlearning new skills, Cub Scouts can earn special badges to sew on their Cub\nScout shirt and camp blanket. There\u2019s something for all interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cub Scouts from the Norlane West Scout\nGroup attended the ANZAC Day march and service at the Norlane RSL. Several Cubs\nwere proud to wear their Great-Grandfathers\u2019 war medals. The following week at\nthe Scout hall, the Cubs planted poppy seeds and learnt about their\nsignificance. They also learnt about the components of the Australian flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Boys and girls interested in starting their\nScouting adventure can enjoy a free three-week trial. The group meets at\nNorlane West Scout Hall, 84-86 Dunloe Avenue, Norlane on Monday from 4.30-6pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
